For an oil pipeline operator, pipeline monitoring accounts for a significant portion of their operations costs. Their pipeline network stretches for hundreds of kilometers through hard-to-reach areas that are often inaccessible to terrestrial vehicles. For a long time, the only available way to monitor the pipelines was with foot patrols and helicopters. These monitoring processes, however, were not comprehensive enough, as many sections of the pipeline were still located in swampy and wooded areas and could not be inspected.
Irregular monitoring meant that accidents were frequent on the line, causing big environmental and economic damage. The oil transport company was looking for a partner who could help them improve their monitoring process using the latest technology.Cut 30% of your costs by outsourcing drone data processing.
Save 75% of your time and use it more effectively on marketing, sales and data collection
The municipality needed a unified and effective system to better manage its multiple departments and services. The municipality wanted to create a system that would unify management of spatial data, synchronize department operations, and allow easy sharing among municipal personnel. Finally, they wanted the app to be publishable and viewable online so municipal residents could access the information.
Effortless use. Always accessible. Completely custom
Access your data whether you’re in your office or out in the field.
The Drone Data GeoPortal is optimized to work with mobile and desktop devices. It’s a flexible solution that allows you to use data collaboratively or limit use and secure data in accordance with ISO 27000.
Communicate effectively with clients
On average, about 20% of time spent on a project is wasted on solving technology problems when delivering results to a client. As a result, you lose time and risk decreasing client satisfaction. The Drone Data GeoPortal allows the client to view your hard work directly and without glitches.A platform to showcase your services
The Drone Data GeoPortal can be extended to function as your online store, where you can accept orders for data collection and offer additional services to your clients. Transform your data management tool into a marketing platform!Project objective was to help a major GIS solutions provider build a data processing center to enhance their map-making capabilities in Eastern Europe.
The geospatial solutions provider already had data that covered a multitude of countries on all continents and faced growing demand, but they lacked data about the Eastern European region. To provide a full spectrum of geographic information to their users, the GIS provider needed to find a strategic partner in Eastern Europe able to set up an offshore center to process geographic data quickly and cost-effectively. The data processing center had to be completely dedicated to the client, and required competent and technically skilled staff to return a highly accurate product. It had to be fully secured to ensure data protection, and it had to be scalable to match the scope of each project.
In order to effectively compete with existing geospatial data providers, our client needed a GIS QA team to control, verify and manage the data output of other organizations. The increase of GIS use in environmental modeling and the availability of a variety of digital datasets raised concerns about the quality of end-products. Our client needed a partner capable of verifying and delivering proven, quality data. Their existing project used municipal source civic address maps that were converted to vector GIS files of address points, and utilized satellite imagery that enhanced positioning. These vector files required QA resources to fix problems where necessary. Despite the fact that our client is experienced in spatial analysis and geospatial data processing, they needed an extra set of resources to ensure integrity of their data and ongoing quality of their services.
In creating a specialized GIS of the flooded Ukrainian territories on the QGIS platform, it was necessary to shift the existing process from processing data using paper questionnaires to GIS processing.
The global mapping corporation wanted continuous improvement in every area of its offshore operations and reporting, but it lacked the right tools to achieve visible change in its offshore centers. The company had a number of highly distributed teams that demanded a large coordinated management structure and required a significant amount of reporting, which hindered performance and productivity. They wanted a partner who was not only competent in GIS technologies, but who could also demonstrate visible performance improvement and innovation. Their ideal partner would be able to accurately estimate time needed for GIS tasks, complete and report them, and enhance the performance of their offshore teams in the process.
Europe’s major geospatial services provider needed to update information in their POI (point of interest) database. This database needs to be updated regularly with new POIs from around the word. The updates have to be carried out quickly in order to provide users with the most relevant information. The database update process included spatial analysis, data processing and geodatabase editing. All POI data were obtained from various sources and required verification and complex analysis. Up to now, most of the update work has been performed manually. Despite the fact that the client was experienced in spatial analysis and geospatial data processing, they needed an extra set of resources to process the big amount of data.
Land use agency decided to use drone-captured images to update their existing cadastral maps, because it is a cheap, precise and real-time data capture method. The map update was necessary for the agency to accurately define lot boundaries and manage land resources effectively. The agency, however, did not have the geo-expertise to process captured images or build topographical plans based on the derived data. They needed a partner who would be able to analyze the UAV images, organize and process data, and map the results. The task was further complicated by the fact that the data was captured by different types and models of UAVs and cameras, creating a myriad of data formats. The data captured was also frequently in violation of traditional survey techniques, requiring special attention.
The municipality needed a unified municipal system that would integrate GIS into its daily operations, such as planning and management of major city departments, establish standard format for municipal geospatial data and share geospatial data with the city’s other departments, agencies and citizens.
The municipality is one of the biggest government structures in the client’s country and includes 27 departments with over 15,000 employees that provide over 100 services for city residents. The municipality needed a new platform that would allow the departments to collaborate and work together in an effective way. The platform had to enable high performance, accuracy and security, without interruption, as mistakes and delays were time consuming and costly.Intetics was approached by a representative of a major construction company. The company constructs industrial facilities in several locations in different parts of the country. It is crucial for them to know of any site issues to successfully distribute their resources and ensure well developed, timely results.

Commercial vs. Open Source: A comparison of GIS Software
We are conditioned to think that high price equals high value. Because of this, we always assume that something we’ve paid for is better than something free. But is that true in every case?
