For an oil pipeline operator, pipeline monitoring accounts for a significant portion of their operations costs. Their pipeline network stretches for hundreds of kilometers through hard-to-reach areas that are often inaccessible to terrestrial vehicles. For a long time, the only available way to monitor the pipelines was with foot patrols and helicopters. These monitoring processes, however, were not comprehensive enough, as many sections of the pipeline were still located in swampy and wooded areas and could not be inspected.
Irregular monitoring meant that accidents were frequent on the line, causing big environmental and economic damage. The oil transport company was looking for a partner who could help them improve their monitoring process using the latest technology.Cut 30% of your costs by outsourcing drone data processing.

The municipality needed a unified and effective system to better manage its multiple departments and services. The municipality wanted to create a system that would unify management of spatial data, synchronize department operations, and allow easy sharing among municipal personnel. Finally, they wanted the app to be publishable and viewable online so municipal residents could access the information. The end-user experience had to be intuitive and adaptable to the user’s software and hardware requirements.
Europe’s major geospatial services provider needed to update information in their POI (point of interest) database. This database needs to be updated regularly with new POIs from around the word. The updates have to be carried out quickly in order to provide users with the most relevant information. The database update process included spatial analysis, data processing and geodatabase editing. All POI data were obtained from various sources and required verification and complex analysis. Up to now, most of the update work has been performed manually. Despite the fact that the client was experienced in spatial analysis and geospatial data processing, they needed an extra set of resources to process the big amount of data.
A leading provider of navigable maps needed to perform spatial analysis on a large amount of data in order to deliver high quality map services to its customers. The existing application used during the client’s production did not support automatic data analysis and was not able to synchronize data with existing GIS systems. To solve these challenges, they needed a reliable partner with experience in building complex GIS solutions.

Commercial vs. Open Source: A comparison of GIS Software
We are conditioned to think that high price equals high value. Because of this, we always assume that something we’ve paid for is better than something free. But is that true in every case?
